RESEARCH PROJECT
Title: Towards a better understanding of the factors influencing regular cannabis use among people living with a psychotic disorder: A collaborative qualitative study.
Description: This research aims to explore the complex, multi-level factors that influence cannabis use in the context of cannabis legalization and the impact of cannabis on the lives of people with psychosis (PWP), with the ultimate goal of helping in guiding the development of appropriate cannabis-related policy and public health initiatives. It also aims to explore the experiences and roles of family caregivers of PWPs in relation to their cannabis use. Its approach is based on the socio-ecological paradigm and aims to understand the dynamics of cannabis use and its consequences among PWPs, as well as the perspectives of PWPs and their caregivers on cannabis-related public health messages and initiatives. Finally, it is intended to be collaborative, participatory and, in order to take into account the heterogeneity of the social context and health programs, will target both urban and rural residents of the province.
